Fixed Dentures

People lose their teeth for a variety of reasons – from severe decay and damage to infection. However, if you find that you are missing a large number of teeth in your upper or lower jaw, you will most likely need to have them restored. Dentures are the traditional treatment for replacing lost teeth.

The two most common types of dentures are known as fixed/permanent and removable dentures. The difference between the two is that removable implant-supported dentures can be snapped on and off of the abutments whenever you need to remove them, while fixed dentures are permanent and can only be removed by a dentist.

Fixed or permanent dentures are an option that looks, feels, and functions just like natural teeth because they are permanently attached to your dental implants. These dentures are more stable, long-lasting, and convenient than removable dentures. They provide patients with a number of benefits including:

  • Greater  durability and strength
  • Improved discretion
  • Fewer compromises
  • More comfortable fit
  • Are cleaned just like regular teeth
  • Adding strength to the jaw bone
  • Can last upwards to 20 years!
